My Personal Favourites

John Smedley Knitwear. I dont put on knitwear very often but, when I do, it's always by Smedley ! Beautiful fabrics combined with modern (and retro) styling all add up to a fantastic product. Great worn casually with jeans and thin enough to wear under a suit (which, by the way, does create a very nice shape if you dont sport the washboard stomach of your youth !) At present I own a cardigan, V-neck and a rollneck...this combination seems to cater for any occassion.

My Personal Favourites

Fox Umbrella. I have used fox umbrellas for years and, apart from looking great, I have found them to be 100% reliable. Very well priced considering the heritage (since 1868 I believe) and quality of the product. I am very tempted by the red leather contrast stitching on the handle (shown below) currently being offered by the company....very sharp !

My Personal Favourites

Knitted silk scarf by Kilgour. Yes, Kilgour again but their knitted silk accessories are superb ! I have one of these in black and it looks great casually with a crisp white shirt and jeans or more formally with a suit.

Aspinal Leather Wallet

Handmade in beautiful Black English Bridle Leather this Aspinal Exotic Billfold Wallet has been luxuriously lined in red snakeskin. The snakeskin is not only very soft but due to the dyes which have been applied during the finishing process, they have a glistening almost translucent finish.

Aspinal, if requested, can also monogram the wallet for you either in gold or hot-stamp.

Other inside colours are available but I LOVE this red one. One of my next purchases !

My Personal Favourites

Rolex stainless steel Daytona (above) and Rolex stainless steel Submariner Date. Over the years I have dabbled with many watch brands but always come back to Rolex. These two sports models are amongst my favourite.

My Personal Favourites

Blackberry Bold Smartphone. Ok, maybe a slight departure from the normal thread of my blog but as a latecomer to Blackberry I feel I have to make comment about how much I love it ! Great looks, simple to use and fantastic features make a Blackberry a must-have item for the man about town- even although I do seem to be coming to this conclusion about 5 years later than everyone else !

My Personal Favourites

The House of Creed make the worlds finest fragrances and Green Irish Tweed is my weapon of choice ! Absolutely beautiful fragrance that lasts all day and just oozes quality. I cannot get enough of it !

My Personal Favourites

The Barbour Liddesdale (or Husky) coat is one piece of clothing no man should be without. Very versatile, this coat looks great worn casually with jeans or over a pinstripe suit...inexpensive, light, practical AND stylish. If only every purchase in life was this simple !
In my opinion, green is the best colour !

My Personal Favourites

The Berluti Andy (Warhol) loafer. Berluti, in my opinion, produce the worlds finest footwear.
I dont have a pair at present but I am working on it !
The Andy loafer is quite simply one of the most elegant items you can put on your feet.

My Personal Favourites

The Burberry Trench Coat. It can be challenging to look stylish in the rain ! However with a Burberry trench and a foxs umbrella it can be done ! I like to get my coats nipped in at the waist and the arm width reduced to maintain a tailored look. You've got to stay sharp even if wet !

My Personal Favourites

The Crombie Coat. I own these coats in black, navy and the displayed fawn / beige colour which is my favourite....it goes with any colour of suit (within reason !) and makes any outfit look sharp and finished. My crombie coats (unlike the image) feature slanted pockets and a third smaller "ticket" pocket. Very 60s and sharp !

My Personal Favourites

At present I get my suits made for me by Ede and Ravenscroft....great product and service. My suit requirements are quite simple...3 button, single breasted, double vented coat. Flat fronted, slim trousers with 2 front pockets (none at the rear). Fit and quality are more important to me than "fashion" suits with quirky features.

My Personal Favourites

High collared 3 button shirt. Although the one I am wearing in this shot is by Viviene Westwood, I usually get my high collared shirts from Eterno London or Angelo Galasso (the inventor of this type of shirt). The shirts from Eterno also feature, if requested, beautiful large double cuffs.

My Personal Favourites

The Knitted Silk Tie by Kilgour, Savile Row. The ONLY ties that I wear. Beautiful !
